He had to prove me wrong!

For some reason yesterday morning I was thinking about how Brayden is a kid who doesn't slow down. He won't just fall asleep on you and he's not one of those kids that gets tired and falls asleep in the high chair. So wouldn't you know it I ran into the other room to check something on the computer while he was eating lunch and when I came back he was fast asleep in his highchair! Now if I could only figure out how to get him to do that more often!

Crazy Days!

The last month had been crazy starting school, karate, piano and a trip to Seattle and Idaho.

I have to admit I was pretty ready for school to start but the kids were excited too. They all got the teachers they wanted and set off for their first day with smile on their faces. The excitement has faded now that the homework is being sent home but they are all doing great. The one that is most disappointed about school is Brayden. Every morning when the school bus comes he stands in the driveway and screams and cries when the kids get on the bus. He waits for them in the afternoon and starts dancing and giggling when he sees the bus come around the corner. He is so cute!

A few weeks ago Trent and I went to Seattle for a couples weekend. Grandma & Grandpa Smith came and stayed w/the kids. It was great to be able to leave them without any worries. The guys played lots of golf in Seattle and the girls did plenty of shopping. Trent and I spend Saturday touring Seattle. We took the duck tour around Seattle and then had lunch at the Space Needle.

The next weekend we headed to Stanley Idaho for Devon's wedding. It was great to finally meet Cali. She is so sweet and her family was wonderful. The wedding went perfect and they seem very happy. Stanley is defintely in the middle of nowhere but it was beautiful. It was kind of nice to be away from the world and enjoy the simple life for a weekend.

Summer Fun

Our summer was very busy. We started off with a trip to Disneyland. Grandmas Smith met us there and we wouldn't have been able to do it without her. Trent was working the entire time we were there so we were on our own. Brayden doesn't believe it is right for babies to sit in strollers so he is a handful to take anywhere. Grandma did a great job entertaining him so that the other kids could enjoy Disneyland!

Our next adventure took us all over Idaho and Utah. I flew into SLC with the kids and then drove up to Idaho Falls. We did have a nice surprise at the airport when we went to get on the plane and there was Nana! She surprised us and took Brayden with her on the flight to Idaho Falls. All of us were very grateful to have a little less travel time for him. We stayed at Nana's house and Krista & Adam came with the kids. They all had a great time making smores and fishing. They didn't get much sleep but what can you expect!
After Nana's house we drove to Kimberly, Idaho and stayed with Tiffany and her kids. We hadn't seen them for 2 yrs but the kids picked up right where they left off and had a great time. They had fun playing at the house and going to the lake.
We continued our journey back to Utah where we met up with more family. We enjoyed a night at the park with lots of Jolley cousins and a couple of days catching up!
Trent met us up with us just in time to head up to Bear Lake for the Smith family reunion. We stayed at the Beaver Creek Lodge and the kids had a blast. They rode 4 wheelers, played volleyball and baseball, and ran around with their cousins. We had a great time riding jet skis and watching the kids play at bear lake. After 2 weeks of fun we headed home to recover and get some sleep!

Slowly But Surely!

Well, I finally did it, we have a blog! Thanks to some nudging by Xela we are up and running. Hopefully this will be a great way to keep in touch with all of you that we don't call often enough. I also dediced this would be the most effective way of recording our families life since I am terrible at journaling. I'm sure it will take me a while to get the hang of it but I'll figure it out as I go.
